Cellist Tomáš Jamník, a renowned interpreter of classical and contemporary music, is also known as an initiator of musical projects. His playing is particularly appreciated for his thorough knowledge of the piece being performed, his work with details and his warm musical communication with the audience. In 2006, he won the Prague Spring international competition, and was also a finalist and recipient of a special prize at the 2011 Pierre Fourniere Award competition in London. As a soloist, he has appeared with major Czech and foreign orchestras, including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Czech Philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Córdoba Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra London.

He is also recognized as a chamber musician, and with violinist Josef Špaček he released the critically acclaimed album Paths, dedicated to compositions by Czech composers. In 2024, he performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of the Academy of Chamber Music, conducting Václav Luks and performing Josef Mysliveček's Cello Concerto in C major. As part of the Otakar Ševčík Festival, he performed the renewed premiere of the cello concerto by composer Jiří Teml together with conductor Jakub Hrůša. He performed the same concert with the Ševčík Academy Orchestra at the Young Euro Classic festival in Berlin. In addition to his performing career, Tomáš is an enthusiastic innovator in the field of classical music.

He is the author of the Serious Interest initiative, has been the artistic director of the Academy of Chamber Music since 2015, and in 2019 he became the artistic director of the Ševčík Academy.

Tomáš studied cello in Prague with Mirko Škampa, Martin Škampa, and Josef Chuchro, continued in Leipzig with Peter Bruns, and at the Berlin Universität der Künste with Jens Peter Maintz. In 2023, he completed his six-month stay in the USA as part of the Fulbright-Masaryk Scholarship, thanks to which he lectured and performed concerts in New York, Boston, Chicago, Kansas, and other cities.
