Singer Radka Fišarová, a charming lady of the Czech musical scene, has been singing and performing since childhood. Thanks to the musical performance Edith – vrabčák z předměstí (2000, Pilsen J. K. Tyl Theatre), she began to devote herself to chanson, a genre that currently fills the program of her concerts with an accompanying quartet and accordion, and which she interprets with such conviction that many people call her nothing other than simply the “Czech Edith Piaf”. But it would definitely not be fair to narrow her musical activities to the musical scene and the repertoire of the legendary chanson singer. Her beginnings are connected with folk and country, she collaborates with a wide range of musicians across genres, symphony orchestras, opens up new paths for chansons thanks to unconventional arrangements (for example, in collaboration with leading composer Aleš Březina on the CD Rendez-vous), and her own original work is an integral part of her repertoire. It is also part of her latest music recordings “Krámek s nadějí” and the Christmas album “Ježíškovi…”
Radka Fišarová started singing at the age of five in the choir Bambini di Praga, while also attending the LŠU department of singing and guitar. At the age of twelve, she founded her own country band Auris, with which she won the famous Porta author competition and recorded her first album Město. She graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and while still studying, she sang songs for the film adaptation of Škvorecký’s short story Eine kleine Jazzmusik and first got her first glimpse into the musical industry thanks to a role in the Czech version of the musical Hair. At only twenty years old, she successfully auditioned for her first leading role in her life – the role of Evita in the musical of the same name, becoming the youngest performer of this role ever. Her solo discography is mainly based on French chanson (Homage to Edith Piaf, Paris Paris, Under the Paris Sky, Rendez-vous), but she has also guested on a number of recordings of various genres (Velvet Revolution, Echoes of Stone, Waved Surface, The Witches).
Radka Fišarová has already had a long series of musical roles in many performances (Hair, Evita, The Magic Pot, Cleopatra, Zorba the Greek, The Three Musketeers, Rebels, Quasimodo, Elixir of Life, Mamma Mia, Romeo and Juliet, Kat Mydlář, The Man in the Iron Mask, etc.). However, she has also tried her hand at opera (Montezuma by Lorenzo Ferrer at the National Theatre), performed in the Bernstein Mass project, conducted by Caspar Richter, and played the main role in the production, with music by Petr Malásek, Lucrezia Borgia (National Theatre). She has collaborated with Clarinet Factory, a formation famous for multi-genre projects. For several years she hosted the Night Micro Forum on Czech Radio Two. With a group of Czech artists in cooperation with the La Femme Gallery, she performed at openings in Brazil, Canada and Ecuador.
She performed in the performances Edith – a sparrow from the suburbs (New Theatre Plzeň), Evita (Studio Dva Theatre), The Man with the Iron Mask, The Mandrake Flower and other performances at the Broadway Theatre. She is currently performing with the Edith Piaf Tribute program on the Small Stage of Studio Dva and at the Tvrz v Divice Fortress, together with the Belarusian accordionist Aliaksandr Yasinky and an accompanying band (Ondřej Kabrna – piano, Miroslav Linka – guitar, Petr Dvorský – double bass, Radek Doležal – drums, Dominik Budlovský – tap). She also often guest-performs with philharmonics in our country and Slovakia with her Czech-French concert program.
A significant chapter in her professional life is also her teaching activity.
She is the author of the successful music competition Chci Tě slěstě! 2021.
